I don't get any Cryengine shell menu options (with blue cry icons) on right-clicking my Game.cryproject file in my project folder. Using a Third-person CPP template. I need to replace the player character with my own. And, in order to do that, i need to generate a solution, Seems the launcher didn't install the windows shell extension, which it should have. Well that's just a thought! Visual Studio IDE (2019,2017,2015) and Visual C++ Redistributables (2015, 2013) are installed. Am using windows 10. Please help asap in this regard.

This could be an issue regarding installation of the engine, or some other issue preventing the installer from registering the context menues.
We would advise to read through the following thread and see if you can resolve your issue the way this user has: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=235420

Hey Cry-Flare, thanks a ton for the feedback. Went through the thread and immediately uninstalled Launcher, cleared my registry and installed it again. And there u go, i had the cry shell menu back!
But when i right-click the .cryproject file and generate solution, nothing seems to happen! A window appears and disappears! There is no "solutions" folder to be seen, which it should have created if everything went fine. It is only if i edit the game.sln file located therein, that i can get my character up and running as the player. Have all my compiler and IDE dependencies installed.

No idea where to go from here mate!?

I am confused as you mention the solution folder is not created but then you mentioned you edit the Game.sln file manually. Is this from a previously generated solution?
One thing to try is to Repair Install Visual Studio. It could be that CMake cannot find any Visual Studio installations on your machine.

Without seeing the error from the console window that pops up though, it is hard to say what could be the problem. You can run the command manually in a command window to see the output. To do this you would run the command:
(including the quotes)

Make sure to replace "<PATH_TO_ENGINE>" and "<PATH_TO_PROJECT>" with the appropriate paths.

If this works, and yet the context menu does not, I would look at the mentioned thread above and see what the registry keys values are, and if they are pointing to a valid engine location.

Hi Cry-Flare, Thanks! Uninstalled everything and re-installed launcher with the latest version of Cryengine. Created a new project in third-person c++ template. Clicking on it only "initializes" the project as the pop-up dialog box says, but doesn't launch the editor. Had this issue a year back when i switched engine versions (to the latest one back then). Though don't recall how i got everything resolved. I also could not locate any CryVersionSelector folder in the engine tools folder and any cryrun folder with a cryrun.exe file therein, as you mentioned. Now i am stuck again, until the editor launches and am able to open my project, of which i have a backup though. Help Cry-Flare! Help!

Can you tell us the version of the engine you are trying to use, as well as where this project comes from (Version? Template? GameSDK?).
Please try to create a new project using 5.6 and let us know if this works for you.

Hi Cry-Flare, using the latest version 5.6.5 and third-person c++ template. Even with a new project, "generate solution" gives an error! Find attached both CMakeError and CMakeOutput files. Please have a look and see what u can make of it. Thanks Flare!

It appears it cannot find your Visual Studio Installation.
Please try a repair install procedure from within the Visual Studio Installer.
