Re: Crysis Animation Set Question

Hi! I wasn't expecting such a quick response.
Sorry for not clearing up what I meant. Here's hoping I do a better job this time.
While I love all the animations the character in CryEngine V comes with (mirroring that of Alcatraz and later Prophet have), there are some previous animations I miss from the first Crysis (the character able to punch even without having a weapon, moving his arms when he runs, having a pick-up-items animation — I know Crysis 2 and 3 had this, but I can't seem to use it); I would like to know if there was a way to combine the stock animations with the set?

Or, maybe it would be easier if a new character had all the Crysis Animation Set instead of "porting over" a select few; I'm not even sure how to do that. Like I said: I'm new and bad at a lot of this — but I'm willing to learn, of course!

If I'm rambling, I apologize. I do that.

No problem, you're always welcome to ask.
If you are asking about this specific package - https://www.cryengine.com/marketplace/product/CEMP-2184 .
These are animations that could be used with all sorts of skeletons in animation software, they just need to be retargeted.
But there are neither skins nor skeletons bundled in this package, so you would have to set it up on your own before importing / using inside the engine.
You could work those into gamesdk or your own characters if you so wish this would require you to work with skeletons and animations of Gamesdk characters as well.

Ah, I see. This makes it all clear — thanks!
As far as using them in the gamesdk, is there a guide someone can point me to (I'm more of a visual person, so a video would be great, but I'll take any explanation)? As much help as I need, I doubt anyone here would like to give me a personal account on this thread; that's way too much to ask, and you have gone above and beyond.

I would recommend starting here https://docs.cryengine.com/display/SDKD ... t+Creation and https://www.cryengine.com/tutorials/vie ... -animation .
You will need to use 3d modelling / animation software for this and therefore look up the tutorials on how to use that first.
The animations of the gamesdk character itself are kept in your gamesdk folder : animations.pak . If you extract this, you will be able to access the animations which are ready for importing.
For example \CRYENGINE Launcher\Crytek\gamesdk_5.6\GameSDK\GameSDK\animations\human\male\deaths contains the gamesdk human character death animations and so on.
You can import the skeletons of gamesdk character, retarget the imported crysis animations, export that and add into the gamesdk.
