Per-object shadows

Hi, could anyone please explain to me how to use this feature? I can't seem to figure it out and the online documentation is very vague about it. What I did I converted my brush to an entity and created a new flowgraph from the properties tab. This his what my flowgraph looks like:

so then I enabled e_ShadowsPerObject 1 hit Ctrl+G to enter the game. Once I entered the game mode the object was not casting any shadows at all. When I disable e_ShadowsPerObject 0 console variable, shadows are being cast again. What exactly is it, that I am doing wrong here?
