Many things are right, but I think that a lot depends on the role one is taking over. As an artist you will have a hard time trying to avoid the gamesdk - and he writes in the article, that devs doesn't recommend to use the gamesdk (what's right in my opinion).

As a programmer some of the problems he is addressing aren't right, but of course an engine should be suitable for all kinds of devs in the best case.

Ease of use shouldn't come at the cost of dumbing down the engine.
I feel like they are carefully adding features and modernizing the engine while keeping it professional.
Which is easier said than done.
Although, I have to agree game sdk needs some cleaning up.
I think they are going to make a new game sdk when they finish networking, schematic and so on.
