Cryengine 5 Books

#1
Hello,
I am new to CRYENGINE. I have always wanted to use the engine for a very long time now. But then just right now I found out that CRYENGINE 5 became free for a long time as well. I don't have any teachers to teach me how to code with CRYENGINE and was wondering if the Mastering CryENGINE still good at this point? Can I still use the book with CryEngine 5?

Thanks :)

P.S I don't know where to put this i'm deeply sorry if this is the wrong thread to out this topic.

Hi IYuuki,

Unfortunately we have not made any CRYENGINE books.
However there might be CRYENGINE books that have been make by 3rd party developers.
we can not guarantee for the quality nor do we know if the content is outdated.

A good place to start would be the CRYENGINE videos that you can find here:
https://www.cryengine.com/tutorials/getting-started
They are very easy to follow and very user friendly.

For in depth details you can always check the documentation page which can be found here:

Here is my opinion.

Hi IYuuki,
For now, I don't see any book for CryEngine 5, but I see that the most compatible (imo) for CryEngine 5 is: CryEngine Game Development Blueprints. I think the book uses CRYENGINE Version 3.8.1.
