1-yep you need apply transform so you have scale 1,1,1 location and rotation to 0,0,0
3- yep so the texture is apllied to UV map
5-If you want the player to collide with your meshes in game, that's not a good way to use the main mesh for that because of the high calculation . You need to create an other simple mesh that wrap your object and assign it to a material proxy. Look for tuts like this to see the concept:
