Cryengine 5.4 crashes when creating a new Level

Hi everyone,

I wanted to try the new CE5.4 but I can't create a level without crashing the editor.
I can open the example level, but the editor crashes when I try to save it. If I save it after the crash, that level will also crash the engine when I try to open it again.
Oh, and it also crashes when I generate terrain texture.

I'm using Win7 HP 64-Bit, all updates (optionals too) installed, newest drivers for all my hardware. Sandbox opened with Launcher, both running as admin.
CE5.3 works fine.

Btw., how am I supposed to attach my log files when the forum doesn't accept them? No matter if I want to upload a .log or .txt, I always get an "Invalid file extention - Error"....

I will write both, editor.log and error.log in here:

Spoiler!  Show

Please Attach as a Text file or as a Spoiler.

Also, looks like permission issue. I would make sure it has Perms in the folders it uses.

Well I thought so too but normaly it has all the permissions needed when "running as admin" is enabled.
Also I'm running it exactly the same like 5.3 and 5.3 works fine, same as all other CE5 versions except 5.4.
Path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Crytek\CRYENGINE Launcher\Crytek\Cryengine 5.4 and Cryengine 5.3.

Just coz it runs as admin does not men it will have file perms.

The Projects are saved in the Documents folder. I would check those perms and make sure its not read only and that everyone has perms.

I save my projects in the actual engine folder, not in the documents folder...
And yes, running as admin gives write permitions. I double checked it. Everything has permitions and nothing is write protected or read only.
I did the same thing like I did with 5.3. If 5.3 works, and it does, then 5.4 should also work the same way...but it doesn't.

is all your Drivers and OS updated?

I know 5.4 added a few new Graphical features and that could be it.

And no, Admin does not auto give perms. I have folders on my computer that being admin I am unable to edit, as it is set to another admin account.

I have all latest drivers installed. Latest Windows updates too.

In that case, when you have more than one admin account, yes you're right.
But I have only one account on my PC and that's the main admin account. So when I give admin rights to an .exe, it will have all admin rights.

Have you tried creating a simple project in another folder like your documents folder to quickly test if it could be a permissions issue? If it still crashes in a folder outside of C:/Program Files we might be dealing with a different issue.

Yes I already tried that.
I created projects in different locations and hard drives, even on my backup HDD.
The issue stays the same.

Aside from your issue here;
I would highly advise to keep your projects separate and outside of the official engine folders. These folders can be updated and/or changed by the launcher and you could lose your project.

Regarding your issue, can you confirm that 5.3 works for you? But that 5.4 doesn't?
Check our troubleshooter here.
Move your project away from the engine folder and then go to the launcher and validate install for 5.4 under the engines tab.

Let us know how you get on.
