Installed 5.4, cannot run maps

I installed the new 5.4 yesterday. For a time I was able to load and run the example.cry map, I could see some animated spheres.
But now it fails to load. When I load example.cry there is just one static sphere visible, see screen shot. If I do CTRL-G game mode, it crashes.
I've installed GameSDK and copied the files into one project. The assets and maps appear but I can't load the maps or the assets.
The editor.log says "Successfully opened document Assets/levels/example/" but it doesn't appear.
I've attached the log.
I'm running Windows 10.
I hope there's a solution for this!

Hi cwright,

If I understand you correctly you want to view the main perspective for the blank template for 5.4?
It seems you are on the Character Tool tab, since there are no characters in the blank template you wont see much, like the generic sphere you see there.

You can select the "Perspective" tab, this should show you the game level. If you ever get stuck, you can reset the positions/docking of the editor windows by going to "Layout->Reset Layout".

- Also, I would advise you wrap your log text in hidden bbcode tags like so:
