Hi,

I installed CryEngine 3 and removed it in 2012 I think. Now I would like to try it again on windows XP but I can't because I always get this message.

How I can use the old version ? if I can't loggin ?

Thanks
Bob

Hello,

Currently we only support 2 versions of CE. One is the version on Steam named EaaS and is only available to previous subscribers and lifetime key holders. The other is the version of CE we actively support on our portal named CRYENGINE V. This is accessed by installing the launcher and creating a project.

In addition - the versions of CE we support I believe require Windows 7 and above to have the basic requirement of DX11 support.

As far as I can tell, you are trying to use a really old version (it still says "Free SDK non-commercial use").
The login servers for these old versions don't exist anymore. So you can't log in or use these versions.
Use CryEngine V instead.

Hi siegfried999,
It's easy to install and enable CE3 (the free SDK) - it requires a simple update of the Windows registry. I installed CE 3.5.8 on my new computer a couple of weeks ago and it works fine.
But, as another poster mentioned, it's quite possible that CE3 can't be used on Windows XP.

Provided that it would be advisable to use a PC with a modern operating system and current version of the SDK, you can still run the FreeSDK by adding some information on your Windows Registry.

1) Right click on your Desktop and create an empty text file
2) Change the extension to .reg
3) Right click on it and select Edit
4) Input any made-up username and password. It doesn't matter what, as the login servers for that version are no longer online anyway. Example below

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crytek\Sandbox 3.5\CryDevLogin] "User"=hex:66,66,66,66,66,66 "Password"=hex:70,70,70,70,70,71,72,73 "UserId"=dword:00000001
5) Save the file and double click on it
6) You will be asked if you want to merge the registry's information: just say "Yes"

As noted above the SDK will probably not work on Windows XP, so 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10 should be used instead.
