Ways to get around the limit of the number of light sources with active shadows

So! lately, restrictions on the number of light sources with shadows on have begun to strain me. There was a conversation that the limit is 12 light sources, well, I don’t know, after 10 projectors of light, the shadows begin to flicker, but just the point light sources need even less so that the shadows begin to flicker. It is impossible to make normal lighting in the room, if this is one room there are no problems, but if there are many rooms connected by corridors and everywhere you need point sources of light. How does Crytek get around these restrictions? Maybe some FG which turns off the light sources at a distance or in the direction of the camera?
