Scaleform needs to be replaced now that it's potentially illegal to use the only version of Flash it works with.

I mean, this should've been done a long time ago but at this point, you guys have to have brain worms or something!

If you check the roadmap there is an Ingame UI Pipeline in the works. No need to call people brain worms.

Lavizh, do you have any more info that you could 'reveal' when that might happen. Cause now it sits under 'Reasearch & Development'. Can I presume it may still be included in 5.6, potentially 5.7? Cause it's really long wait and for all of us that do work on serious (meaning commercial) project it is very crucial.
I know that there are some alternatives such as Fairy UI or other HTML5 based (more suitable for html 5 gmes imo) however they not so great. For bigger teams I guess they have more options depending on the budget but smaller devs options are rather, well, poor.
We have seen number of pretty neat games being released lately and apart from Warhorse $60 mln production (so we shouldn't really call them indie also for that reason) UIs could hugly improve game experience and general design etc.. It's not my aim to point out all the benefits but putting it frankly it would make Cryengine looking more professionally (well games). Not too mention sales / profits for game devs and Cryengine. I know it's not the fortune we're talking about but all counts, right. IMO it also affects the brand too to certain extent.
It's like Unity had low poly / mobile game engine sticker for years. Seeing how great the engine is it bothers me that some things are being overseen, idk.
Yeah, so what would be the rough date. Is there any slight chance for the UI to be implemented this year or next year?

It probably wont be in 5.6 as they just updated the roadmap recently. I do not have a date nor a month to give you other than it's in research and development at Crytek.

I too have looked into FairyGUI, i kinda like it and would love for someone to integrate it. Also contacted the author a while ago but didn't get any good replies from him.

Thank you for quick response Lavizh. Let's hope we won't be waiting too long for this. Kind of hoped it would be in works, meaning further than planning.

Since Flash CS6 is part of the CC Subscription, how is it illegal to use it?

I am not a lawyer. But.
Using a product outside the scope of the lawsuit cannot be seen as illegal. It is not involved in the context of the Adobe vs Dolby case.
That said, if you ever have any doubts, please contact Adobe directly and ask for confirmation.

Locking the thread as it is misleading.
