3D Main menu

Hello everyone! I need to make the main menu so that in the background there is a scene with my character. I need to first "flash" make all the buttons on a transparent background, and then somehow when starting the game run a scene or how? Help please, it is desirable that there was a video.

unfortunatly there is only a gfx scaleform license to play video for now but it is really expensive ,still waiting too for a cheaper solution,the only way to do a custom menu is make all via flash and use the flowgraph to create logic, not really easy, need much work and experience

You could always load a "Menu Level", which would be an actual, small level.
Then you could draw your UI on top of this using the normal Scaleform/Flash method.

Cry-Flare is correct on this method.


On our project we created a small level - 128 , then loaded in our character model and some back ground stuff. Afterwards we loaded UI using the 2D method. Activated the mouse and constrained the Camera ( in code ) but, you can use flow graph too. After players selects start game or load game then in flow graph or C++ ( which ever works for you ) the level loads with loading screen and done.
