Help With Importing Characters

#1
Hi everyone,
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this; I'm new to the forums.
I have recently been using adobe Fuse on steam and I am wondering how I import the characters into Cryengine?
Fuse has the option to export model as an OBJ file. When I export the character, the textures are separate from the obj file and it also has a mtl file with the package.

Any help would really be appreciated. :)

It depends if u want import it as a player or npc you need to know that fuse character animate will not work in cryengine since they dont have the correct rig skeleton you will need to rig it on cryengine sdk skeleton or create from zero your skeleton and a lot of other stuff. If you want import just to test u need to export the character via 3ds max or maya as. Cgf file format along with his material and tiff textures

Hi EmmaB!
As Ik-interactive already mentioned, setting up a character is a workflow where very specific steps need to be taken.
Additionally it's preferable to either use FBX format for exporting or use the CryTools for exporting from Maya / 3ds Max in a CGF format.
I would suggest taking a look at the tutorials we provide on the topic, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xP1NpW_iT_A .
This page will provide you with a wide coverage of all the steps and processes involved into character setup from start to finish : https://www.cryengine.com/tutorials/vie ... -animation .
