[SOLVED] Exported mesh from Maya always faces camera

When I export a mesh from Maya (to .CGF) and bring it into my project, it always faces the camera and is obviously exported wrong. I've tried using Maya 2018, 2017, 2016 and CE 5.4 and 5.5, the result is the same. I even tried exporting the sample sphere from the documentation (http://docs.cryengine.com/display/CEMAN ... ort+-+Maya) and got the same result. Anyone know how to fix this?

SOLUTION:
Since CE 5.4, CGF imports automatically have "Billboard" checked in the material settings. Uncheck it and it works properly.

I'm not sure I understand your question... Your object is flipped in the wrong direction, is that what you mean? If that's the case, make sure Maya's axis is set to Z up (instead of the default Y up).

The mesh always faces the camera, when I move around the viewport inside CE.

Check the material to see if "billboard" is checked. Ever since 5.4, newly exported cgfs from Maya has always had billboard on default for me.

WOW that was it, thank you so much! How in the world does that even happen? This needs to be filed as a bug in both 5.4 and 5.5 Preview 1.
