Hi,
Can you clarify for us which repository you are trying to compile in what configuration using what compiler on what exact OS?
I just tried the Release repository in Win32|Profile via vc140 (VS2015 IDE) on Windows 10 x64 which compiled successfully.

Can you confirm that the Windows 10 SDK is installed?

Hi thanks for the respond
well here :
repository i used is https://github.com/CRYTEK-CRYENGINE/CRYENGINE/releases i took the top one (5.3.2) + the SDKs (5.3.1)
i used default configuration (also i have tried both WAF and CMake to generate the solution)
My OS is Windows 8 x64
i also used MSVS 2015 tho,

Default configuration is Debug which I just tried as well and which as well compiled successfully.
So the only differences then seem to be that you're building against the source code provided via the archive and that you're running on Windows 8.

Do you have means of verifying your issue against a Windows 10 installation?

When you say Windows 8, i hope you mean 8.1? Since 8.0 is not supported by CRYENGINE.

so the main problem here is the OS? and no my OS is windows 8 but the build target was 8.1
i don't think my current machine is strong enough to run windows 10 tho

i might use other machine with windows 10

I suggest you either update the current OS to Windows 8.1 or upgrade the entire thing to Windows 10. You'll be surprised how stable and well Windows 10 actually runs. It is much, much better than Windows 8.

Yes, why not upgrade to 8.1? Unless your OS is, let's say, not activated?

i just though an OS will not be a big deal in development staff so i leave it but now at least i learned something from this case
Microsoft offered me a free upgrade i will see if it still available or i will buy an upgrade instead.

by the way thank you for all you guys help and advices. i really appreciated it

cheers :)
